"If I am to Become A Story"
“In the end we’ll all become stories.” - Margaret Atwood (Canadian Poet & Novelist)
… and I’d like mine to be told
With a bit of flair,
A bit of bold.
I want the dull days sung high
The bright days sung higher.
The frowns painted bright
The smiles painted brighter.
The sun should outshine
The dreary days spell
And how I danced!
Do tell, do tell!
Read aloud the poems
Of canaries, wings of gold,
Dragons and pixies
Fiery tongues, hearts stone cold
If I am to become a story
Let me be a legend.
Make me a beginning
Not “The End”
